HOW TO PROPOSE A POST TO US

Send your proposed blog entry to us by submitting it as a new paper submission (via the 'Make a Submission' tab on the Journal homepage). You can make informal enquiries by email to Dr David Allan david.allan@edgehill.ac.uk and Dr Craig Hammond c.a.hammond@ljmu.ac.uk with the title “PRISM Guest Blog: [Proposed Post Title]” in the subject line.

Please include the following information as part of your blog entry/submission (in the main body of your submitted draft blog):

  • A bio with details about your role in education (80 to 100 words)
  • Three to five links to any other Blog pieces (if any) that you have written
  • A summary paragraph of your proposed PRISM Blog – approximately 250 to 300 words – that describes the proposed theme and content (keep in mind that finished blog posts should be around 750–850 words)
  • Links to any multimedia you plan to include
  • A few words about the intended target audience for your blog (for example, higher education academics, further education practitioners,  etc.)
  • Your Twitter handle (if you have one)
  • Please note: We accept only original submissions. If your post has appeared elsewhere, we will not accept it.

The PRISM Blog Editorial Process

The PRISM editorial team will review your pitch, and if we accept it, will ask you to upload a complete draft of your post. It is likely that one of our editors will want to work with you to do at least one round of revisions.

Because of the volume of submissions we receive, we have to say no to a lot of pitches, including many good ones. While we’re not able to respond substantively to every one, please know that we read all pitches closely, and we appreciate the time and energy that writing them requires. We do our best to respond to all proposals within two to three weeks. If we don’t accept the first pitch you submit, we hope you’ll try again with other great ideas.
