Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The text is in the correct format (as defined by the author guidelines)
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements (as defined by author guidelines)
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.
  • Copyright clearance has been obtained for any 3rd Party content included in submission
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

Author Guidelines

Submissions should be a maximum of 6000 words, excluding footnotes and bibliography, in Ariel Font 12, justified and double spaced, using the Oscola referencing system

Submissions should be accompanied by an abstract of up to 300 words. Abstracts should include the a statement of the article topic, research question, and core arguments.

Submissions should also include up to 6 key words.

If accepted, authors must provide a brief author biography of up to 100 words. Until then, please remove all references to, or clues about, your identity as author from the main text, footnotes and bibliography to allow an anonymous peer review process.

Do not submit tables, photographs or illustrations.

Please ensure that any ‘track changes’ have been removed before submission.

Work should be submitted as a Microsoft Word file.

Authors confirm that the contribution does not infringe any copyright, violate any other property rights, or contain any scandalous, libellous, or unlawful matter, and has been through Turnitin

Authors confirm that the work has not been published or submitted for publication/peer review with any other journal/blog.

Authors are welcome to email the editor-in-chief prior to formal submission, to gain feedback on their work at h.baumeister@ljmu.ac.uk.
